Sprinkler Repair & Maintenance

A zone that won't come on, a head that won't shut off, or a wet patch that never dries. Most of it is a small fix if it's caught early.

Call (201) 664-4640 Describe the problem

Signs something is wrong

  • A soggy patch or standing water that never dries out
  • One zone noticeably weaker than the rest, or dead entirely
  • Heads that mist or dribble instead of throwing a clean arc
  • A hissing sound near a valve box
  • Water pooling around a head after the zone shuts off
  • A water bill that jumps with nothing else to explain it

What usually causes it

Broken or clogged heads and damaged risers are the most common, usually courtesy of a mower, a plow or a car tire. After that it's valve problems — a failed diaphragm or a bad solenoid will leave a zone dead or leave it running when it shouldn't. Underground, it's cracked laterals and split fittings, most often on systems that weren't blown out before a freeze.

Controller faults are worth ruling out too. Plenty of "broken" zones turn out to be a program that was never set, or a rain sensor doing its job.

How a repair visit goes

We run each zone and watch it before touching anything, because the symptom and the cause are often in different parts of the yard. Once we know what it is, you get the price before we start. No digging first and pricing after.

Maintenance, before it becomes a repair

A tune-up covers head alignment and coverage across every zone, cleaning screens and filters, checking pressure, and reprogramming the controller so water lands on the lawn instead of the driveway. It's the cheapest visit we do and it prevents most of the list above.

Seasonal work

If it's October, what you probably want is winterization. If it's March, it's spring startup. Repairs found during either one get quoted before we do them.
